About the date calculator
Sometimes you need to know the date a certain number of days, weeks or months from now — a deadline, a due date, a rental return. This calculator adds or subtracts any duration from a starting date and tells you the exact resulting date, including the day of the week.
It also finds the number of days between two dates, which is useful for contracts, projects and travel planning.
Adding a fixed number of days is unambiguous, but adding months is not — months have 28 to 31 days. The usual convention is to keep the same day-of-month and roll back only when it doesn’t exist (adding one month to 31 January lands on 28 February). This calculator follows that convention and always shows the resulting day of the week so you can spot weekends and deadlines at a glance.
“How many days between” can mean two different things. An exclusive count measures the gap between the dates (Monday to Wednesday = 2 days); an inclusive count treats both endpoints as full days (Monday to Wednesday = 3 days). Billing periods and rentals often use inclusive counts. This tool returns the exclusive gap, so add one when you need to count both the start and end day.
