TheCalculate is a free collection of online calculators covering finance, health, math, dates, and everyday conversions. It exists for a simple reason: most people just want a quick, trustworthy answer — how much a loan really costs, what their take-home pay will be, how far a savings plan will grow — without downloading an app, creating an account, or wading through pop-ups to get it.
TheCalculate is an independent project, built and maintained by a solo developer rather than a large company. That independence is deliberate: there is no sales team, no upsell, and no product being pushed. The goal is a fast, honest set of tools that are genuinely useful and pleasant to use.
Every calculator is built around the standard, published formula for its subject — the amortization formula for loans, compound-growth formulas for savings and investments, the official BMI and BMR equations for health tools, and so on. Alongside each tool we write a plain-language explanation of how it works and answer the questions people most commonly ask, so you understand the number, not just see it.
We review the tools regularly and refine them based on how people actually use them. When rates, tax figures, or standards change, we update the calculators and their explanations to keep them current.
Every tool on the site is free to use. The calculators run in your browser — the numbers you type are used to produce your result and are not part of any account, because there are no accounts. You can read exactly how the site handles data in our Privacy Policy.
We work hard to keep every calculator correct, but results are estimates for general information only and are not professional advice. For anything with real financial, legal, tax, or medical consequences, please confirm the numbers with a qualified professional. See our full Disclaimer for details.
